It seems that the first LP to contain the word psychedelic was The Deep's Psychedelic Moods (the wonderful album that is said to have been recorded in the dark) just a few months before The Psychedelic Sounds by 13th Floor Elevators and Psychedelic Lollipop by The Blues Magoos.
The year 1966 was coming to an end, and everything seemed very psychedelic. The Blues Magoos, a band from the Bronx, New York, raised among skyscrapers, were describing, with their vibrant, vitalizing music, more distant landscapes... wilder and full of highly saturated colors.
