The young Minnesota singer-songwriter, newly arrived in New York, wrote the spoken-word blues Talking Folklore Center for Izzy Young, the owner of the small Greenwich Village establishment where the concert was to take place , published a four-page booklet that included lyrics and sheet music.
The curved swastika (tetrasquel, cuatrisquel, or lauburu in Basque) is a symbol common to many European cultures whose use has persisted in many regions of this peninsula we inhabit. Cultural activist and folk music propagandist Izzy Young used it as the emblem of his Folklore Center.
