They knew what could happen if they stared at the moon. Grandmothers and mothers had warned them of the inevitable consequences: cosmic madness and lunatic sweetness.
Ayers reunited for his second album "solo" a band he called The Whole World . Among them was a young Mike Oldfield on bass and some lead guitar; David Bedford, an avant-garde composer, on keyboards ; and Lol Coxhill, a saxophonist capable of caressing, pinching, biting, and improvising.
It was a short-lived band that didn't work as well live as it did in the studio. The album is an extravagant and carefree mix of ideas, melodies, experiments, and daydreams.
