 Kim Fowley recounted that, back in 1967, while recording some songs with Sky Saxon in Dallas, the police once asked them for their papers and driver's license as they got out of their car. Sky pulled out a picture of Jesus Christ and gave it to the officer, saying, "Garage rock isn't bad. Jesus Christ was born in a stable, which was kind of like a garage back then."
